What is Netflix Notes? It's Moments, but better...
Have you ever used the "Netflix Moments" feature? Do you even know what Netflix Moments is?
It's one of Netflix's latest features that let's you save and share clips from Netflix directly on your socials by tapping this icon:
This feature already sets Netflix on a path towards a more shared watching experience, and, although Moments is a really cool idea, it is at a raw stage. Interaction between users can be pushed even further and turned into something bigger.
As a start, we could implement a "Friends" system, however we want to avoid turning Netflix into any other social media, so no stories, no DMs, none of that... it would need to be something like the Spotify system, where you can follow them and (if they allow it) you can see what their interests are, what they are watching as well as interact with each other in a couple of new unique ways:

1. Leaving Notes on a movie/series timeline
With Netflix Notes you'll be able to leave a comment directly on a precise moment on the show that you are watching, so that when your friends watch that same content they will also see your little note pop up in the corner of their screen. Furthermore in order to let your friends know where and when you comment on something, your latest Notes will also appear as a preview in the Notes home section.
Just like with your Friends, you can now choose to follow celebrities and see their notes as you watch your favourite shows.
​2. Party Watch

Of course there are times in which watching a movie is a scared intimate moment that needs no distractions, but there are also times where you would just want to spend some time with your friends. Party Watch lets you do that even when you are apart.
While browsing the Netflix library you will now have the option to start a Party watch. When this is selected you automatically create a waiting room where you can choose to invite your Friends and start watching whenever you please.
In addition, while you wait for your Friends to join you could choose to play some of Netflix games (which is another very unused feature at the moment that would find an extra purpose here).
When watching something in Party watch, Notes will be disabled to avoid clutter on screen.
Instead, you will be able to interact with your Friends with a contextual live chat for a more immediate shared experience.
